The Source for Sports Exclusive version of the CCM Extreme Flex E5.9 SR Leg Pads feature all the same features as the catalog E5.9 with upgraded features. These upgrade specs include; HD/PE Knee Stack, PU Leather Leg Channel Reinforcement, Embroidered PU CCM Logo's, and exclusive colorways that are unique to the Source for Sports family. Pair these upgrades with DUAL1TECORE Technology, Quick Motions Strapping System, and SpeedSkin material, the E5.9 Source Exclusive offering gives you more "bang-for-your-back" over the catalog model.
External Material
The CCM E-Flex E5.9 goalie pads are wrapped in CCM’s proprietary SpeedSkin material. SpeedSkin is just as thick and durable as traditional Jenpro, but its embossed texture allows for an effortless slide.
The CCM E5.9 Source Exclusive features a front CCM logo upgraded with PU leather, giving the pad an pro embroidered look.
Internal Construction
The core of the EFlex E5.9 SDC is made up of CCM’s Duall1te technology. While also being incredibly light, the Duall1te core gives the pad a different flex profile in key areas. The boot and shin of the E-Flex E5.9 are soft and allow for torsional flex, feel and mobility. Above the knee, the pad has added stiffness to maintain seal and structure along the ice.
Pad Break
The break setup on the CCM EFlex E5.9 consists of one outer break, paired with an internal pre-curved single break. This gives goalies flex at the knee and five hole closure, while maintaining the pad’s seal to the ice.
Boot Angle & Toe Taper
To maintain flexibility and compliment the Duall1te core, the EFlex 5.9 has a deep ultra soft boot channel. This 90 degree boot angle gives goalies a soft feel, while making power pushes and other movements easier.
Knee Cradle
CCM uses recessed foam with a removable knee cradle wrap to allow customizability and comfort. This deep knee cradle is designed to help close the five hole and prevent you from falling off the knee stack, while still having unrestricted mobility.
As a Source for Sports exclusive upgrade, the knee stack of the E5.9 is upgraded through the use of HD/PE foams. These high density foams are injected into the knee stack to create a stiffer, more solid landing and seal along the ice. This upgrade from the standard EPE foams gives this E5.9 a pro-level knee stack in its rigidity and stability.
Knee & Thigh Protection
The E-flex 5.9 does not have any knee/thigh protection included. The wider recessed knee cradle works best with an independent kneepad; a kneepad is also generally recommended for shot and impact protection.
Strapping
The EFlex E5.9 SDC features CCM’s Quick Motion strapping system. Through work with the biomechanics team at Western University, CCM was able to find out what straps were actually needed on a pad, along with which configuration performed the best. The two velcro calf straps and knee strap make the pad lighter, along with giving the pad great responsiveness and butterfly drop speed. The toe bridge of the E5.9 SDC has a velcro bungee system, in the place of traditional skate lace. CCM’s bungee system is quick and secure, and allows for more flexibility, easing the stress on goalies’ joints.

The Source for Sports Exclusive version of the CCM Extreme Flex E5.9 Senior Goalie Leg Pads offer a slight variation in color styling from the catalog E5.9 models. Colors offered in the CCM E5.9 Source Exclusive Blocker are; Boston, Chicago, Toronto, All Black, All White, White / Black, and White / Black / Silver. The E5.9 SDC SR Leg Pad is available in 33 1, 34 1, and 35 1.
